I’m here to tell you I’ve been on a quest for quite some time.

As you might quess from the title, it has to do with something called Kakadu Juice.
But before I go on any further l should let you know, I’m an old guy. I don’t feel old, I sure don’t act like I’m old …but it’s true. Time is not on my side. In fact, I’m at that point where if I don’t watch it, I’ll loose it, and loose it fast. (You know , hair,
skin tone, muscle tone… all the tones, lost forever.)

I’m also one of those types that listens to what my body is telling me. It’s pretty simple, so I thought, to come to the conclusion, that if after eating a pizza at 1am and then hitting the hay at 2am and  you find yourself with restless leg syndrome and getting no sleep because of that darn migraine that’s been huanting you for years, that maybe eating before going to bed isn’t a good thing. Especially something like pizza. You think?

When I was younger I could eat anything but now my food intake has been what usually would be deemed healthy food. Lately however I’ve noticed that some of my all time favorite healthy foods, like tomatoes, broccoli, and all the fruits are starting to taste like …well, the word cardboard comes to mind. I’m freaking out here. I need some food that not only tastes good but works at giving me my nutrients! Nothing is more important than feeling mentally and physically at ease and having all your bodily functions working properly. You’ve heard the horror stories, you know what I’m talking about. Sick at my age really stinks. Both literally and figuratively…

Now enter  kakadu juice. Where does it come from? What is it?  What does it do and why should I care? Ok …

The Kakadu plum is found in Australia’s own backyard “Northern Territory”. Aboriginal people have been using this medicinal natural food source for thousands of years.

Don’t ask me why, but I had to try this stuff out. The only problem was, while it was coming to the USA, in the not too distant future, it didn’t exsist in the states at all. Still doesn’t for that matter.

Then I did something totally out of character. To make a very long story, short ,
I got some of the juice. In the process,  again a long story, I’ve met the main guy from Australia, Vic Cherikoff, and I’m totally in awe of his achievement in making a food that works. It’s raw, he has retained the plants fiber so as to keep the nutrients from disapating over time( like 99% of all fruit juices suffer from) and for the first time in my life I feel like I found the perfect food .

First the taste. For me,it is the best thing I’ve ever exposed my taste buds too.
Seriously, the different herbs and spices and fruit flavors hit you at diffrent times.
And it lasts awhile …totally an enjoyable experience.

The drag is you only need a very small amount, as it is in a concentrated form.
I guess you could dilute it with other juices. I personally would never do that.

What it did for me after drinking it for about a month was nothing short of undeniable. More energy, better focus, my mood was unusually up beat.  

But what really excited me the most though, were my finger nails. For the first time in my life, they actually where growing into the long hard finger picks I’ve been yearning for, my whole half century of guitar playing. First time they haven’t broken from my frantic flailings. First time ever!

I’m hoping my next post is about the Kakadu juice being available to us nutritionally poor Americans. It’s going to be a great day for those of us that realize the benefits it brings us. Australia’s secret has now been revealed.

In recent years, the gourmet food business and health food industry
have exploded.  Food was once intensely regional, and some have returned
to that concept of eating locally grown food.  However, culturally, our
taste buds have expanded.

Years ago on the east coast of the United States, Mexican food barely
existed.  Now, even relatively small towns not only have a Chinese
restaurant, but a Thai and Vietnamese one, too.  East Indian, Greek,
French, Polish - international ethnic foods are everywhere.

Enter Australia and, in particular, Chef Vic Cherikoff.  Vic got interested
in food and health as a teenager.  Since then, he has never looked back.
Being observant by nature, Vic noticed as a young man how his homeland was
being wasted agriculturally.  There was no wild land, or bush, left as
the land was being pilfered by modern farming methods.

This raised a gigantic question in his mind.  What will happen to the native
aboriginal foods (i.e. nuts, seeds, herbs, spices and fruits) indigenous
to Australia and life-blood to the ancient aboriginal culture that had
survived for over 50,000 years?  This sturdy stock had an average life-span
of 75 years in a time when the white population only lived about 35 years.
Another question popped into Vic’s mind.

Since those early days, Vic has made a career out of those questions.  With the
aboriginal food model, Vic’s early plan began to formulate.

He began studying environmental biology, biochemistry and industrial microbiology
and earned a triple major when he received his Bachelor of Applied Science degree
in the 1970’s from what is now called the University of Technology.  His first
job after graduating was at the University of New South Wales in the Department of
Pharmacology and Physiology.  Here he worked on the brain’s reaction to various
neurotransmitters and drugs.  This turned out to be excellent training for his
future in food safety and in sourcing, screening and marketing active medicinal
compounds from Australian botanicals.

Vic’s next position brought him even closer to his passion.  He worked at the Human
Nutrition Unit at the University of Sydney doing scientific analytical research on the
nutritional value of native foods.  Given free rein to taste and analyze over 450
different foods, he was able to discover and be involved in the genesis of what is now
called authentic Australian food.

Vic soon realized this could be an industry just waiting to explode.  He started with one
restaurant client and created Vic Cherikoff Food Services Pty Ltd.  His food sources are
supplied mostly through Aboriginal communities and also through his own collecting.

His company later split into three divisions: Cherikoff Rare Spices (food ingredients);
Cherikoff Bioactives (functional ingredients); and Cherikoff Infotainment (publishing,
video content, and appearances).

Vic is now a highly regarded, well-known Australian chef who delights in teaching
Australian native cuisine to other chefs and apprentice chefs.  He is pleased to see
his lifelong passion and quest come to fruition with the exportation of these healthy,
flavorful, indigenous foods to worldwide markets.  Vic Cherikoff is a name sure to
become more familiar around kitchen tables in the future.

Should Freelife Reps Worry?

CBC has just lambasted the product and its creator, Earl Mindell, stating that the the product’s health claims (preventing/curing cancer) are false.

Should you worry if you’re a Freelife rep marketing this product?

Here’s a way to decide.

1. Are you using the product and do you love it madly?

Then you have little to worry about, because no one can take away your story.

2. Are there others, who are NOT selling the product (just customers, not reps) who love it madly and wouldn’t be without it?

Then you have even less to worry about.

However, if the people promoting its virtues are mostly those selling it, with no customer base of non-sellers, this product (or any other) is already in trouble. Ask yourself: would you use the product if you weren’t selling it?

Years ago I was running a Super Saturday event for reps who were marketing a certain health product in capsules. A group of reps from a competing company walked in on the meeting and announced that the product we were marketing had filler in it, and what did I have to say to that. Everyone waited for my response.

I didn’t have any first hand information about their accusation, but I loved the product. Here’s what I said:

“I haven’t heard that, but if it’s true, it the best product with filler in it that I have ever taken. For the past year, I’ve slept better, had more energy and had bettter digestion than I’ve had in the past 10 years. So it’s pretty good filler, if that’s what it is…”

Everyone laughed, the situation was diffused, and I took the product for another 7 years - AFTER I left the company - because it worked for me.

We don’t know why some products work for some people and not others. Many products with millions in research actually ended up killing people - think Vioxx. Others that are just placebos have been shown to help people .

Ask yourself how the product has affected you and others who are not dependent on selling it for their income. Look into the facts and and hear out the company response. That can help you think through your decision about continuing to take it, or represent the product. For me, the fact that it helped me made the most difference.

Moral: Do not make promises or claims about what your product will do for anyone else. We only know how it has helped many others. Stick with those stories. Skip the predictions and claims. No one knows for sure what a product will do for someone else, do they?

When considering a product, the FDA suggests avoiding ones with undocumented case histories or testimonials and phrases such as:

* Miraculous cure

* Extremely beneficial

* Contains a secret ingredient

* Ancient remedy

* Money-back guarantee

* Shrinks tumors

* Cures impotency

* Revolutionary

* Scientific breakthrough

We all want to be healthy, wealthy and beautiful. But when it comes to talking about beauty, some people know a lot about skin care, while others haven’t a clue what our skin is designed for.

When we reach the age that we begin to see fine lines and wrinkles, we start to look for solutions. I may not be a doctor, but I studied anatomy and physiology while at university and I know that our skin deserves all the nutrition we can give it. A Great Facial Scrub

Face Masks

There are quite a few face masks you can make for yourself and one of those is the Peach mask. This is used for tightening the skin and all you need is one ripe peach which has been peeled and pitted, and one egg white. Whip the two ingredients together and once completely mixed, apply the mixture to the face and sit back for around half an hour before rinsing it off with cool water.

Another good mask is the Cucumber mask. Now cucumber is used for many beauty recipes but it is especially good for oily skin. So if you do have oily skin this mask is for you. You will need half a cucumber, one tablespoon of mint and one tablespoon of lemon juice, as well as an egg white. Mix them altogether into a puree and store it in a fridge for ten minutes. Next apply it to the face and leave on for around fifteen minutes. It is important to rinse the mixture off with warm, and then cool water.

If you have blemishes a mask containing a ripe tomato, one tablespoon of rolled oats and one tablespoon of lemon juice may well be for you. Blend everything together and apply it to your skin. You have to make sure that the mixture is thick enough to cling onto blemished areas. Leave the mixture on for around ten minutes and then scrub it all off.

Overall there are quite a few different products you can create for the face. If you take a quick look online you will find hundreds of do it yourself recipes. All you need is a little time, motivation and imagination and you can easily create your own products to suit your skin.
